Raise funds for your school or
community with Ford. It's so simple.

For every valid test drive taken in a Ford vehicle at a registered one-day event, Ford will donate $20 to the participating school or community organization up to $6,000 per event. The goal is to raise the maximum donation of $6,000 at every Drive 4 UR School or Drive 4 UR Community event. *Schools or community organizations can raise money for virtually anything, ranging from athletic equipment for school teams to canned foods to fill a food pantry.

 

 

Charity Guidelines

DRIVE 4 UR COMMUNITY CHARITY GUIDELINES

 

Ford approval of charity organizations is required prior to event confirmation. Organizations from the pre-approved list will be granted immediate approval. Other charities not included on the list need to be submitted for approval during enrollment and are subject to the vetting process by Program HQ and Ford. Dealers will be notified within five to seven business days if their event registration has been approved.

 

Guidelines for choosing a Charity:

 

  • The organization must be in good standing with charity verification sources such as Guidestar or Charity Navigator
  • Funds raised from the Drive 4 UR Community event must be used for initiatives located within the United States
  • Organizations and initiatives should operate with an 85/15 cause donation to overhead cost ratio
  • Suggested areas of outreach include:
    • American heritage (museums, historical landmarks, etc.)
    • Community Life (Public Parks, Zoos, etc.)
    • Hunger and Shelter (Food Banks, Soup Kitchens, etc.)
    • Support of American Armed Forces
    • Community sports/little leagues
    • Cultural Institutions (Art, Symphony, Opera, Smithsonian, etc.)

Organizations or initiatives that will not be approved for the Drive 4 UR Community program include:

 

  • Any organization in which the funds will directly benefit or go back to an elementary, middle or high school in any capacity. These types of events funding a school would be considered Drive 4 UR School events
  • Religious programs or sectarian programs for religious purposes such as religious education, religious facility improvements and mission trips. Programs operated through a church (e.g. soup kitchens, homeless assistance programs, etc) will be vetted on a case by case basis
  • Direct payments to colleges are not eligible, however club sports, scholarship funds and community outreach by college-based organizations, such as fraternities or sororities, are permitted
  • Chambers of commerce or local organizations with a main goal of improving retailer and/or small-business profits. Philanthropic outreach of a chamber may be considered, such as scholarship funds or community improvement
  • Political organizations or efforts to influence legislation, or the outcome of any elections or any specific election of candidates to public office, or to carry on any voter registration drive
  • Organizations that promote discrimination in their charter or unlawfully discriminate in their provision of goods and services based on race, color, religion, gender identity or expression, ethnicity, sexual orientation, national origin, physical challenge, age, or status
  • Golf outings or non-organized sports teams/leagues that are not recognized by the city or the municipality (e.g. beer leagues)
  • Organizations that provide services or outreach that may be considered sensitive or controversial
  • Individual sponsorships related to fund-raising activities
  • Advocacy-directed groups and programs
  • Labor Groups
  • Loans for small businesses
  • Profit-making enterprises
  • Designated funding purpose towards building, updates, and/or renovations that are not central to the core mission of the organization. These funding purposes will be reviewed on a case by case basis
