The 2020 Ford Explorer comes with three rows with enough seating to fit seven people. This model comes with a lot of expectations regarding quality and convenience and lives up to them all. Ford Explorer Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2020 Explorer comes in six different trim levels, including the base model, the XLT, the Limited, the Limited Hybrid, the ST, and the Platinum. The base model comes with 18-inch wheels and rear privacy glass. The XLT adds roof rails and the optional 202A package that features silver-colored trim on the bumpers and LED fog lights. The Limited, Limited Hybrid, and the ST trims offer these features but also provide the option of 20-inch wheels and automatic wipers.
Ford Explorer Engine (Power)
The Limited, XLT, and base models all have a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It has 300 horses under the hood and provides 310 lb-fit of torque. The ST ups the ante with a 400-horsepower engine that packs in 415 lb-fit of torque. The Platinum version has the same engine that powers the ST, but it opts for less power, giving drivers 365 horses and 380 lb-fit of torque. The Limited Hybrid has both a standard 3.3-liter V6 and a hybrid drivetrain that combine to produce 318 horsepower.

The powerful engine options coupled with the rest of the drive train give the 2020 Ford Explorer impressive performance capabilities. The 10-speed automatic transmission is more than capable of taming the horses under the hood. It also gives drivers the flexibility to drive more conservatively or aggressively, depending on whether they want to save on gas or hurry to their destination.

The inside of the 2020 Explorer is stuffed with convenient options. It has a power liftgate, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control, an eight-way power driver's seat, a 50/50-split third-row seat, and a 40/20/20-split second-row seat. This Ford model also excels when it comes to entertainment and connectivity. You get a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, two USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android connections, satellite radio, and a six-speaker audio system.
Ford Explorer Safety Features
The Explorer also makes sure passengers and drivers are kept safe and sound. It has automatic high beams, land departure warning system, and a blind-spot monitor that also keeps track of traffic as it crosses to the rear of the vehicle. The Explorer can also warn drivers ahead of time if it senses that a collision is imminent. In addition, if a collision does occur, the vehicle can automatically brake in order to help prevent a secondary collision.
