I would like to address the award that we, at Gilbert & Baugh Ford, were recently given from the Albertville Chamber of Commerce.
We are so thankful and grateful for receiving the “Small Business of the Year,” category 51-100 employees, award, but this award is about so much more than Gilbert & Baugh Ford.
As the banquet began, I looked around the room at what I would estimate to be about 250 guests, which included business owners, city and state leaders, etc.
Years ago, many of those business owners had a dream and, probably, little funding. However, they stepped out, took a chance and built their businesses on honesty, integrity and commitment. Some of these businesses were passed down generationally or sold to family members.
No doubt, the original owners laid the groundwork but the second, and even third, generation owners have carried those businesses to the next level of success.
Many of these industries, such as the automotive, poultry, food, trucking and construction, – to just name a few – have weathered the storms of economic downturns and, yet, have still come through and are stronger now more than ever.
And it was all achieved through dedication and believing in ourselves, and our community’s success.
Our city leaders have done a tremendous job at recruiting new businesses to our city and have done, in my opinion, a great job with our financial budgeting. We have seen new industries come to our city, and this has also strengthened our economy.
I say all of this to say that it takes all of our businesses, all of our industries and all of our city leaders in order for our dealership to be successful. We have grown, and will continue to grow, because of all of you.
We at Gilbert & Baugh Ford applaud all businesses in the City of Albertville, and we are very appreciative of this award.
